Me: Do you use your brain to think or do you use your heart to think???
Colleague D: Why are you asking such a weird question?? Seems obvious right.
Me: Do you use your brain to think or do you use your heart to think???
Colleague S: Well, depends what kind of thinking you are talking about.
I went to the egytian exhibition last saturday. While we were having a time out break, we all noticed one weird thing about the egytians. After a person is dead, they preserve the internal organs (eg. lungs, liver, intestines) in jars so that they can be used in the Afterlife. But but butttttt...... they discard the brains!!! AHhahah, i thought that was funny, it's alright to be brainless in the afterlife i guess (Afterlife should be a breeze, no need to think, no need to worry abt anything).
That wasn't the whole story lar, if you continue to read on the information plaque, it was said that the heart was the only organ that was left on the dead body. Unlike the other organs, it is not dug out and preserved in a jar. They believed that the heart (and not the mind) was the seat of emotion and thought. It has to be left intact in the body until it passes on to the Hall of Judgement to be judged (on a weighing scale, ahahhaah).
The complexity of the brain has long been a topic of interest in humanity, but i do find that the heart is just as complicated.
All in all, i still believe that the heart is the centre of emotions. Otherwise, why does my heart ache when i am sad, but never a headache??
Hahahahah, i dunno what i am trying to drive home by writing this blog entry. I dunno how to continue the story. Perhaps i need not have a good reason to write gibberish once in a while. Hahahah, i am having a writer's block moment *knocks head on the table*

Uhhh ... actually ... your brain processes your emotions etc to trigger a feeling of pain which we sometimes refer to heartache. So, your heart actually just pumps blood and is not designed to process pain messages (unless you're having a heart attack).
Soo ... errr ... well ... I don't know what I'm trying to say either. Interesting thoughts though.
Gosh this is an interesting one joey...sometimes (actually most of the time) i feel like i could do with a brain transplant! or the easier way out is to pray to God for more wisdowm hehe...
but to be honest, i hate to admit this but I am the type that listens to my brain and not my heart...i mite sound hard hearted but i dunno how to explain it..i cannot bring myself to do/say something i am fully aware is wrong?
ok enough crapping on...i am being buried at work..take care gal
oops btw that was me (Lizzie Au) hehe
~g~: Yo yo yoo, you are right!!! That was what i learnt as a science student.Pandainya!!
However, there is a discussion amongst scientists that the heart is capable of memory and thoughts too. My colleague S watched a doco. on SBS that featured patients that had a heart transplant. An illiterate person could read and write after heart transplant (the heart belonged to an author), went on to write books. A couch potato who hated exercise went on to training for marathon after heart transplant (the heart belonged to an athlete).
Scientists are still trying to find out more about this amazing discovery.
God is amazing!!!
dear miss au, you are in no way a hard hearted person :)
Hey poeyyyyy, come to think of it, you might be on to something there. Hahaha ... never quite considered it although I have heard similar stories before. Needless to say, my brain makes the decisions, my heart sometimes bear the consequences.
