It could have been me

Don't be fooled by how calm that small rockpool looks like. I took the picture before me and my friend climbed down to dip our feet in the rockpool. So shallow and crystal clear was the water, so inviting on a hot summer day. As we were approaching, big waves just suddenly came crashing, flooding the whole area and then pulled back with force. We retreated just in time to climb to a higher spot. That was dangerous!!! Had we gone further, i probably can say bye bye to the world if the waves had tugged me out into the rock beds further out. On top of that, I couldn't swim to save myself.

Two days ago, i heard that a Curtin student went missing at 'The Gap' in Albany. That was all i could catch as i had just came out from the bathroom. I was quite puzzled as to how the student could have disappeared in a tourist hot spot.

I read the following http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?MenuID=77&ContentID=64236

It brought back memories of my trip down Albany. Never underestimate the force of nature, even when it seems calm and friendly. When the seas swell, there is no telling when your life is going to be under threat. Don't kid yourself and ignore the sign when it tells you that there have been incidents of death.

I hope he is gonna be alright. Till this time, the student was not yet found.

That was dangerous. Thank the Lord of His protection over you and your friend.
