The other side of the world

Came across this pic while blog surfing. When i had a careful look, my heart felt the pain. I simply cannot imagine the loss.

Living in this side of the world, we are pretty much sheltered from any disaster. Hearing about news like what recently happened in China and Burma, it didn't really sink into my head properly. It's just another piece of bad news and gotta move on with life, i thought.

Let this be a reminder that we can't continue being oblivious to the things that are happening around us. As important as it is to keep up in the rat race, it's more crucial that we don't lose our soul and go into the 'zombie' mode.

God is never in slumber, may His peace be with them.

Yes Poey. My family and I were watching the news from China over the cable TV and it is so heartbreaking. My family and I were constantly wiping the tears from our face as we watched the intense report on the Sichuan earthquake and the interviews of the victims from the aftermath. Most of the time, it is not just the consequences of the calamity that make us tear but the heartwarming moments of how the China people mobilize their resources and hearts to help the victims.

heather: I wouldn't bear watching it. When disaster happens, somehow it does bring out the human side of us again.
