An educated choice or continuation of ignorance??

Today, I made the switch to another company for my car insurance. Knowing that the call might be ardous one with lot's of waiting for the other end to pick up the line, I was determined to find out once and for all whether I have been making the right choice all along.

My current insurer raised the policy price for the second year in a row. This doesn't make sense at all, my car value is depreciating yet my policy went up when I did not make a single claim (what happened to the no claim bonus that you so eagerly mentioned to me??). Last year when the first raise occured, I called them up to ask for an explanation. Prices of materials have gone up.... that was their explanation.

I am glad that I made the SWITCH and shaved almost 200 dollars off my car insurance and at the same time added my dad to the driver's list.

No more being an ignorant consumer, that is my one of my resolution this year.

Being a consumer is no easy feat. The small prints are getting smaller, more complicated. Instruction manuals, product disclosure booklets are thick as my textbooks. Who would seriously read through the whole bunch of them?? And sales people sometimes do not disclose the real big hidden clauses. Very eager to sell their products, but yet when things go haywire, good luck trying to find help.

From now onwards, even if I have to annoy the sales person with tons of questions, they will just have to endure it.

Do you think when you purchase something?? Do you really know what you are buying into?? Do you know what you are covered for??

Don't let ppl make the mickey out of you. Think, research, evaluate, ask questions, read the booklet (even if it kills you).

Now..... I just need to figure out superannuation. A deadly word i reckon. I need help!!!!!
