Have you ever had a good look at the food that you are eating??
Since the beginning of this semester, we never really had a proper break on most days. Running late from seeing patients, scoffing down food seems to be norm. Have you tried finishing your lunch, 3 minutes flat?? Thanks to my parents, I get proper lunch. But with all that stuffing of food down the pipe, seems to be just another meal.
Today, I watched a show that featured a celebrity chef showing how to cook at home. Amongst of all the things that he taught, he has this to say "Cooking seems to be a lost art. We need to cook and eat as a family."
I have to admit, I need to have an appreciation for food.
Would really like to learn from the beginning, from growing of the food, to appreciating the taste, texture, smell. Some chefs are so passionate about their food, they go to they extent of going to farms and orchards to learn about produce. Wow!
Maybe this planting and appreciating things gotta be on hold for the moment. At least till I'm done with this course. The scoffing continues ...........
But I did flip open my sandwich today .... I saw cherry tomatoes, ham, fish floss ( i kid you not) and cheese. Yum!!
Have a good look at your plate of food. Go on! Smell it! Taste it! Savour it! Bon apetit :)
