Up to scratch??

I do wonder, are restaurants in Perth really up to scratch with their cooking?? Maybe just the ones that I went to aren't??

I have to admit, these last two years I have not been eating out much at all (couldn't afford to do that too much). Most of the time, eating out left me scratching my head wondering why they are just so full with customers when the food that they serve ain't top notch or anything to rave about. Some would be a hit and miss experience, their inconsistency is as scary as mcdonald's consistency at serving up sloppy burgers.

I am not too fussed about food, me not a foodie. I would eat it anyway even if it wasn't fantastic. What really makes me unsatisfied would be the exorbitant price that one has to pay and the expectations not met.

Yesterday's dining out experience made me want to warn ppl.

We wanted a quick dinner. Hence went to the restaurants that were next to the Roe St. CPP. There are two rows of restaurants to choose from. I have not visited that lot of restaurants for yonks. Was very surprised to see that outside almost all of the eateries stood a waiter trying to entice you to go in to their restaurant. Business must have been very competitive. Run for your life!! Kidding. My advice - have a thick hide.

Eventually settled for a HK styled eatery. Food was so so, needs improvement. That wasn't the issue as I knew not to expect too much. It was all fine and dandy until I went to pay the bill. The amount they charged was much higher than what I had calculated, even if extras were charged .
Asked to see the bill. My gosh, they actually charged me around 5 dollars more for each dishes. The price did not match what was on the menu!! Daylight robbery in real life :(

I understand that they have nicely laminted menus. But that doesn't justify not letting your customers know that the pricing is from a DECADE ago.

I know, I should have kicked up a fuss. But I didn't. Just very disappointed. My passive way of dealing with it is never returning again.

So, beware, always check your bills and menu pricing !!!!
