That's what i call an MTV!!!

Bling bling

Rings that never go out of fashion :)

A fellow blogger wrote about diamond rings. It reminded me of a conversation that i had a few weeks back with a friend of mind who gotten engaged recently. He kept on moaning about his hefty purchase (I had a shock when i heard what the price was, i was calculating in my brains, how many places i could have travelled). And of course not forgetting to blame us girls for being so "diamond - minded".

I just laughed and told him that "De Beers" should be the one to be blamed, the one responsible for propelling a piece of glittering carbon to fame. And excuse me, not all sheep are black, not all girls are advocates of the "it - better - be - one - carat - and - cost - a - bomb- or - else" idea, some of us really couldn't care less.

My friend said that he literally teared at the jewellery shop. The fiancee thought those were tears of joy. Not so in reality, he told me those are tears due to heartache of losing his hard earned money. Poor thing, you will be rewarded kay. It will be worth it. Ahhh.... such is the price one's gotta pay for love.

A few hundred?? A few thousands?? A few million?? How much are you willing to pay for a ring?? I think every guy has an answer in their own heart. After all, love cannot be measured by the size or clarity of a rock, or whether it is real or cultured. When you love someone, won't you want to buy the best that you can for your loved one??

Buying the ring is just small pea compared to the vow that you commit to each other."Till death do us part" ler, now that truly is a mega- astronomical task.

Phew!!! I am glad i am not the one buying the ring. Mauhahahahahahahah.

I read the newspaper every other day, sooooooooo....... how on earth did i miss such an important news????? -_-''' Turning one hour late at work would totally be excusable then??? HAhaha. Stop dreaming!!!

So a gentle reminder to fast forward your clocks, watches this weekend. Good luck to your biological clock!!!

The assignment: Look at people in the eye, and give them a smile ^_^'''

The Idea of North

Back in 2003, i was given a copy of their first album by a friend who was so impressed with their singing. Needless to say, i was charmed too.

Hailed as the "best contemporary a cappella group in the country" by fellow jazz musician James Morrison. Was indeed blessed to witness their performance with my own eyes and ears (a very last minute thing), totally bowled over, totally!!!

They are generally referred to as a jazz quartet, but sing a wide variety of styles, including pop, classical, soul and gospel. Winning awards and hearts of people that heard their music.
Their voices were their instruments, yup, no piano, no guitar, only Naomi (alto), Sally (soprano), Nick(tenor) and Andrew (bass). Pure, unadulterated voices filled the hall, it was so good that it gave me the goosebumps, heheh. The harmony was seamlessly smooth.... smooth as silk. Starting and ending in unison, without losing a beat, it was as if they have an in-built metronome and tuner.
It wasn't just the singing that was impressive, in fact they are a bunch of humourous ppl. A chicken waiting to be rescued ... a mouse trying to be a saxophonist.... chilli con carne..... even SPAM gets a mention in their lyrics. It was hillarious :)
They will be back again next year. This time make sure you don't miss them ya!!!

Spot the difference

Look closely, can you see the resemblence??

If it weren't for the Chris Judd incident, it wouldn't occur to me that there is such thing as haggling for players in AFL. Just like how the housewives bargain for the best deals, the footy clubs negotiate for the best players. Hey this is serious stuff kay, dun play play :p

After much speculation and probably war behind closed doors, they have traded Juddy with a few Carlton players, one of them being Josh Kennedy (see pic).

When i read the newspaper this morning, i had a de ja vu moment. The picture on the right was was featured on today's newspaper. I scratched my head trying to remember where i had previously seen that photo ( i am not having amnesia, i really saw it somewhere before!!!).

Lil' fishie and miss Au, do you have any recollection of this???

HAhahah, found out that it was the exact replica of a photo that i took a few weeks ago (which is the left pic) when they first speculated that Josh Kennedy would be traded in place of Juddy.

What you all would have seen on the newspaper today is a fishy picture, coz Josh never played for West Coast before, so why on earth would he be wearing their jersey???? The face looks the same, but the bandage is on the wrong place and the skin tone is different!!!! Someone obviously beheaded Josh and stuck Josh's head on some Eagle's player body (judging from the arm muscles, the body probably belongs to Benny Cousins, heheh) and then air brush the skin to a darker tone to match the body.

Ahaha... the wonderful world of Photoshop!!!!

Moral of the story: Be aware, be very very aware of what you read and see, not everything is true!!!! To further prove my point, i could have sat down and learn how to photoshop myself next to Brad Pitt, but alas my brain has stopped working overtime, eheheheh.

Signs of aging

A note from colleague

When i saw that note, i really laughed. Coz almost everytime i made myself a cup of tea, i don't end up drinking it. Usually I would wander off to do something else. By the time i remember it, it has already gone colddddddd.

Or another scenario would be i would walk into a room and forget what i was supposed to do (which i still remembered 5 seconds ago).

Yes, one might laugh that i have the memory of a goldfish (3 seconds). But I really can't help it. Sometimes it can drive me to the point of madness!!!!

The weird thing is, there are certain things that i don't forget. For example, i dun have a problem when it comes to remembering work stuff, school stuff or remembering prices on catalogues. Weird...... maybe it is selective memory.... beats me.

Maybe next time i should write a big sign to remind myself to drink my tea :p

He was the violin tutor for Rusell Crowe!!!

He played alongside Peter Garett (the politician who used to be in a rock band)

He played alongside Neil Finn (the band Crowded House)

Can't help but notice that he has earrings!!!

He has three pHDs !!!!

National living treasure!!

Wow, he seemed to have achieved so much even though he is young, and very diverse interest too.

To WASO or not to WASO??

Richard Tognetti (lead violinist/director of Australian Chamber Ochestra, ACO)

Hehe, no no...... i am not on an eye candy craze. But hey doesn't hurt if the violinist is a cool dude right??

What am i trying to say then?? Read this: http://www.bocsticketing.com.au/get_events_info.asp?id=GRE807

This is my first time attending an ochestra performance, so honestly i have no idea what to expect (David campbell totally rocks my socks off, so I hope Richard will be the same). If this is your cup of tea and slice of cake, pls do let me know, coz i will be buying tickets on tuesday(9th Oct). Hurrah!!!

In summary:
Date chosen: 1st Dec (Saturday)
Tickets: Most probably would end up with B reserve ($25) or C reserve ($15). Anyway, doesn't matter where the seats are (since your ears are doing more work than your eyes).

Aussie aussie, oi oi oi!!!!!!!

Joey’s further education of the English language, courtesy of my colleague : )

Colleague: I wish that our lunch room is bigger so we can fit everyone in.
Me: Yeah, I am hands up for that
Colleague: Fiona had a look at a for sale apartment upstairs a few days ago, she was thinking of buying it and converting it to our lunch room. But she didn’t buy it in the end.
Me: Why??
Colleague: Coz it is so small that you can’t even swing a cat in it.
(Muahaha, poor kitty)

Me: I am starving.
Colleague: Me too, I am so hungry I can eat the crotch of a flying bird.
(Wow!!! Did I just hear the word “crotch”????????!!!)

Me: Are you finished for the day??
Colleague: Nope, Fiona and the patient are still flapping their gums.
Me: ??????
(Flapping gums = chatting, ahahah)
